GAZA (Web Desk) – In a seemingly mysterious incident at the Al-Awda Hospital in the war-ravaged Gaza, a baby was saved from its dead mother's womb.

Ola Adnan, a nine-month-old pregnant mother, barely survived the night of the Harb al-Kurd missile attacks in which 24 people were killed with six members of the same family.

According to surgeon Akram Hussain, the woman was ‘almost dead’ by the time she reached Al-Awda Hospital.

Doctors were unable to save the mother but did an ultrasound which detected the baby's heartbeat.

The surgeon told foreign media that he immediately performed an emergency c-section and saved the life of the baby.

Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the hospital, Raed Al-Saudy, said that initially the condition of the newborn was critical, but after receiving oxygen and medical assistance, situation was under control and the infant was placed under an incubator.
